Fenugreek (Methi) – The herbs of janas

Annual plant of the Fabaceae family with white or yellow flowers that form pods of about eight centimeters, which contain about twenty triangular yellow-brown seeds.

Hair: Methi contains a high percentage of mucilages, which make it an excellent conditioner and moisturizer. It also contains proteins, flavonoids, lipids, vitamins, iron, mineral salts and saponins which give it cleansing and sebum-regulating properties. Stimulates hair growth, strengthens them and reduces hair loss. It makes hair voluminous and silky, continued use over time promotes hair growth and stops its fall.

Skin: It has a high nourishing power for the skin, it is elasticising and firming for the face, neck and décolleté. Excellent natural remedy to keep the skin firmer, younger and more beautiful. Excellent as a wrap for the breast to give firmness and elasticity. It can be used as a cleanser to prevent wrinkles and promote healing of acne.

Storia e Curiosità: Its Latin name "Trigonella" recalls the shape of the seeds, in a triangle, while the name fenugreek is because in the past it was used to feed livestock.

How to use:

Mix the powder with very hot water. Leave covered overnight. The following day, blend the pasta to make it even more spreadable. Add any other herbs. Apply the paste to dry or wet hair. Exposure time: 1 hour. A final rinse with water and vinegar helps keep the hair shiny and soft.

As a face mask, the exposure time is 10/15 minutes. Do not let the mask dry, but keep it moist by dispensing water or aromatic waters on the skin.

Methi is often added to herbal mixes to give a scented note with a licorice scent.
