Description
Amla belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family, its fruit is commonly known as Indian Gooseberry or Amalaki. The powder is obtained from the green fruit, made up of six slightly drawn segments, contains six seeds, juicy and pulpy, it exceeds two centimeters in diameter.
E' one of the most used remedies in Ayurvedic Medicine. E' very rich in vitamin C and is a powerful natural antioxidant, used as a beauty treatment for skin and hair.
Hairthe: it is a tonic for the hair, it gives strength to the roots and shine to the hair, it prevents premature graying and hair loss and stimulates its growth. It is also used for scalp infections. According to Indian tradition, Amla darkens hair with regular use.
Skin: It is used as a mask to nourish and soften the skin, it illuminates the complexion and offers deep cleansing, excellent for the treatment of blemishes such as pimples and blackheads. Regenerating can also be used to create anti-aging masks.
HISTORY AND CURIOSITIES: for the Hindus it was the first tree to appear on earth, and is considered sacred. Amla has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for 5000 years, it is present in the 50% of Ayurvedic medicinal formulas and has also been used in the West since recent times. Amla contains precious active ingredients, first of all vitamin C, which is present in higher quantities even than orange. It also has anti-stress properties. In the Indian tradition it is a tonic useful for regaining physical and mental vitality, and helps to develop attention on a cognitive level.
How to use:
Mix the powder with boiling water until you get the consistency of a yogurt. Any other herbs can be added for a synergistic effect. Cover the container and leave to rest for 20 minutes.
Apply the paste to dry or slightly damp skin. Massage with light circular movements. Apply what remains also on the lengths. Leave on for 20 to 50 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and, if necessary, apply a light and diluted shampoo, such as our shampoo with Wild Helichrysum of Sardinia.
As a face mask, it is initially recommended to mix it with Clays and other Herbs as the presence of Vitamin C can lead to slight redness, gradually increase the quantity. The exposure time is 10/15 minutes. Do not let the mask dry out, but keep it moist by dispensing water or hydrosols.
