Monoi di Tiareè oil – Le Erbe di Janas

Monoi Tiarè has always been associated with the beauty of Polynesian women and their wonderful hair. It is obtained from the maceration of the highly scented Tiare flowers in coconut oil. Also known as Solar oil, Monoi Tiarè helps to keep the tan longer and in a more intense and uniform way, avoiding the formation of unsightly depigmented patches. It also repairs the damage caused by excessive sun exposure and maintains the skin elastic. It does not contain sunscreens, it is not recommended for skin at the first exposure, for children and for delicate skin. 

A compress on the hands and feet will make the hands firmer soft and cured, and will prevent the heels from appearing hard and cracked.

Excellent ally of the hair: it protects them from the wind, the sun and the saltiness, counteracts dryness and leaves them silky and untangled. A pre-shampoo pack restores shine and softness, to be carried out by applying Monoi Tiarè on the scalp and ends and cover everything with a shower cap for 30 minutes. Then proceed with a delicate shampoo, such as the one with wild helichrysum of Sardinia. Repeat the treatment daily (even with exposure times of 15/20 minutes) to combat dry scalp and dandruff.

This highly prized oil is obtained from the maceration of ben 200 tiare flowers in 1 liter of coconut oil! The smell is unique and priceless, being concentrated it can be further diluted with other coconut oil.
NB The commercial monoi is obtained only by maceration of only 12 tiare flowers per liter of coconut oil.

Curiosity: Present in the traditional Tahitian pharmacopoeia, Tiarè is used above all for the preparation of the fragrant Monoi, rich in vitamin E, with an antioxidant action, which limits the formation of free radicals, one of the major causes of skin aging.
Monoi is used regularly by the entire Tahitian population for body and hair care, to preserve, soften and hydrate the skin, protect, nourish and shine the hair. The Vahine women's beauty product par excellence, Monoi was also used by Maori navigators during sea expeditions on large canoes, to protect themselves from the cold, strong winds and salt water.
